According to Nakii's website and their listing on Amazon their filter has the "highest rate chlorine and mercury removal. The Nakii filter is the first in the USA to use the newest innovation for water filtration, using Activated Carbon Fiber (ACF), ACF has large adsorptive capacity and features 98% of Chlorine, Mercury removal improve drastically the healthiness, taste and odor in your water, the highest percentage rate in the market. It will reduce, lead, rust, sediment and suspended particles, eliminates unpleasant color and limescale." Of course, like other Amazon water filter pitchers from China, Nakii is heavy on claims and light on testing. The Nakii water filter pitcher has been 3rd party certified by WQA to NSF/ANSI standard 42. (Here is the Nakii WQA certification). Keep in mind that the NSF/ANSI Standard 42 is the lowest standard for any water filtration product. The Brita water filter pitcher is also only certified to NSF/ANSI Standard 42. Nakii provides no testing for NSF 53, 401, P231, or P473.

What is NSF/ANSI 42? This NSF standard is designed to reduce specific aesthetic or non-health-related contaminants (such as chlorine, taste and odor, and particulates) that may be present in public or private drinking water. This standard does not test for heavy metals like lead or chromium (NSF 53). It does not test for trace pharmaceuticals like hormones and estrogen (NSF 401). It does not test for bacteria, viruses or microbial cysts (NSF P231) and it also does not test for per-fluorinated compounds (PFCs, PFOA, PFOS, PFAS) like NSF standard P473.
